Ventilation Issues
Poor roof ventilation causes condensation problems in roof spaces, particularly in modern well-insulated properties. Moisture builds up, leading to timber rot, mould growth, and damage to insulation.
Adequate soffit vents, ridge vents, or tile vents allow air circulation that prevents condensation. Many older properties lack proper ventilation, and even some newer builds don’t have enough.
When to Get Professional Help
Small repairs like replacing a few slipped tiles might be manageable, but anything involving working at height, structural issues, or widespread problems needs professional attention. Roofing work is dangerous without proper equipment and experience.
Getting roofs inspected regularly, particularly after storms or if the property is over twenty years old, catches problems before they become expensive disasters. Water damage from neglected roofing issues costs far more to fix than dealing with the roof itself.
